SUMMARY:Gamified Learning for AuDHD Adults: Play as a Tool to Decolonize Neurodivegence
DESCRIPTION:10-11:30 AM Pacific \nIn this age of rapid and overwhelming information\, how does one choose what is important to learn? Opportunities to play are opportunities to learn. Play allows us to imagine ourselves in different realities\, in different worlds where the rules are different\, where we can be different. In these alternate worlds\, we can demand more for ourselves. In these worlds\, we can identify our needs and build rules and systems to meet our deepest needs. Just as someone imagined the world you see around you right now; the one in which neurodivergent needs go largely umnet – through play\, we can imagine a world in which neurodivergent needs are met. \nIn this call\, Dr Douglass will talk about how gaming is a precise way to deliver information to AuDHDers\, people who are both Autistic and ADHD. \nAbout Kimberly: \nDr Kimberly Douglass is coach/consultant to Neurodivergent Adults.\nDr Douglass is currently constructing the first design studio of its kind\, run by AuDHDers\, for AuDHDers. \nDr Douglass became a full-time coach after working as staff\, peer-reviewed researcher\, faculty and administrator in higher education for over 17 years. She began the neurodivergence advocacy work over 13 years ago when she became the chief advocate for her Son who is neurodivergent. She has since gotten more in touch with her own neurodivergence. Dr Douglass is married to Dean Tate and lives in Tennessee. \nAbout the Embracing Intensity Community\nThe Embracing Intensity Community is a community of gifted\, creative and neurodivergent individuals who are exploring their strengths while supporting their challenges. \nSign up here to access log in information and upcoming calls

SUMMARY:Why Sensitives Need an Ego
DESCRIPTION:Why Sensitives Need An Ego \nAfter studying various philosophies from all over the world in college\, taking in various forms of Buddhism (but mainly Tibetan) for nearly 20 years and going to more personal growth seminars that I can count\, I came to see that much of what is available for personal growth seemed patriarchal\, dogmatic and inapplicable to my particular path. As a sensitive\, I needed to self-advocate and set boundaries\, and the concept of the dissolution of self/ego did not work for me. In fact\, sometimes it just made me feel guilty for wanting to assert myself. Not that there weren’t gold nuggets in what I studied\, but in the end\, I realized that as a sensitive and a female\, I needed a healthy ego and this is what we will talking about in our discussion today. \nAbout Julia: \nJulia R. Wild\, M.S.\, is a #1 bestselling author\, who has blogged for TEDxMileHigh and taught at the world-renowned Somatic Experiencing Institute. She has been fortunate to sit in writing classes with trailblazing creatives such as Julia Cameron\, Cheryl Strayed and various poet laureates. Julia is a firm believer in sensitivity and creativity for healing\, and she enjoys helping sensitives find/restore their powerful voice.
